What is Sports Camp
YMCA Sports Camps focus on improving sport skills through teamwork and friendly competition.  There will be a variety of sports to choose from with each session lasting one week.
Sports Camp is from 9:00 AM-4:00 PM, Monday through Friday, before and after care available 6:00 AM-9:00 AM and 4:00 PM-6:00 PM (extra fee and registration applicable).

Who is Sports Camp For?
Boys and girls ages 6-12 years of age who have interest in developing sport specific skills and making friends.

Sports Camp Staff
YMCA sports camp staff consist of qualified, experienced athletic enthusiasts, former high school or collegiate players.  Random sports camp sessions will involve leadership and participation from local high school and collegiate players and coaches, check back for complete listing of local and area teams.

What is Done in Each Camp?
Each camp will have the following components per week: skills sessions, games and scrimmmages, pool time, lunch, movie, and free time.


Basketball Camp
: Basketbal campers learn skills which help improve shooting, passing, and dribbling.  Individual skill sessions will be held in the morning, team games and scrimmages will be played in the afternoon.

Baseball Camp: Baseball campers will learn skills which help improve fielding and hitting.  Morning sessions will focus on fielding drills and hitting, afternoon sessions will focus on hitting, scrimmages and games.

Fun Camps: Fun Camps are for campers who are interested in not just traditional sports but also games children love to play.  Themed activities and weeks include Olympics, Water Sports, Capture the Flag, Dodgeball, Frisbee, Arts & Crafts, Youth Aerobics and more.  The sessions will focus on different summer time activities to have fun.

Soccer Camp:  Soccer Camp will focus on developing skills to improve offensive and defensive performance.  Players will participate in skills sessions in the morning focusing on dribbling, passing, and shooting.  Afternoon sessions will focus on defensive drills, games and scrimmages.

Flag Football CampFlag Football Camp will focus on developing skills needed in football.  Participants will learn to pass, receive, run effective routes, defend, and understand play calls.  Games and scrimmages will take place during the afternoon sessions.

Volleyball CampVolleyball camp enables participants to develop and focuss skills on bumping, setting and spiking while afternoon sessions will focus on strategy, defense and team games.
