In the 25 years since the YMCA has been in Ligonier, we have seen some major milestones as an organization. We have renovated a 52,000 square foot building to meet the needs of the community, we have organized and run a child development program that cares for over 130 of our community’s children, developed programs to reach out and meet our community’s needs, taught over 5,000 children and adults to swim, and we have given away scholarships totaling over $80,000 a year to those in need.

In 2010, we began a re-branding process. With YMCAs across the country the Ligonier Valley YMCA has renewed our commitment to strengthen the foundation of our community. With a focus on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility we create life- changing events every day. Whether it is inspiring and supporting one of our members as they shed 60lbs in an effort to become a better person and a better mother or taking in a child that recently lost a parent and has nowhere else to go. We believe that lasting personal and social change happens when we all work together. Every day we work side-by-side with our neighbors to make sure that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to be healthy, confident, connected and secure.
